Getting started

How do I join Kin ID?

Download the app, then sign in with Google. If a friend invited you, enter their invite code when asked so you both get rewarded.

Is it free?

Yes. Joining Kin ID, chatting, checking in and mining are all free.

Which languages does Kin ID support?

Kin ID is available in 19 languages, including English, Chinese, Hindi, Spanish, French, Arabic, Bengali, Portuguese, Russian and Indonesian. You can switch languages at any time.

Why can I only have one account?

Kin ID is a network of real people. One person, one account keeps bots and copies out and keeps rewards fair for everyone.

Mining

How do I mine?

Tap Start on the home screen. A session runs for 8 hours, and your $KIN is added when it ends. Then you can start the next one.

Does mining use my battery or data?

No. Mining runs on Kin's side, not on your phone. You can close the app while a session runs.

How is my speed worked out?

Your speed is the base speed, multiplied by your mining days level and by your active team. New members also mine ×2 for their first 3 days. You always see your speed before you start.

What are mining days?

Mine on days in a row to level up: ×1.2 after 1 day, up to ×5 after 30 days. If you miss a day, you start again from the first level.

What does Boost do?

Boost lets you watch a short ad during a session for extra $KIN on top of what the session pays.

Why did the base speed go down?

The base speed halves step by step as more of the mining share is mined. This makes the supply last and rewards people who start early.

Invites

Where do I find my invite code?

Tap Invite on the home screen to see and share your code.

What do I get for inviting friends?

You get $KIN straight away every time a friend you invited starts mining, plus bonus $KIN at invite milestones.

What is my active team?

Your active team is the friends you invited who are mining when you tap Start. The more of them mining, the faster you mine, from ×2 with one friend up to ×150 with a thousand.

I forgot to enter an invite code. Can I add one?

If you skipped it when you joined, you can still add a code from the invite page in the app for 7 days after joining.

$KIN

What is $KIN?

$KIN is the reward of the human network, with a fixed supply of 1.5 billion. It is a community reward, not an investment, and nobody can promise what it will be worth.

Can I send $KIN to a friend?

Yes. Tap Send on the home screen, choose a friend or scan their code, and enter an amount. You can also gift $KIN in chat.

Is $KIN an investment?

No. $KIN is a community reward. It isn't an investment, a security or a currency, and nobody can promise what it will be worth.

Account and privacy

How do I hide when I was last online?

Open Settings and choose who can see your last seen: everyone, only your friends, or nobody.

How do I turn notifications on or off?

Open Settings in the app, or change Kin ID's notification settings on your phone.

How do I delete my account?

Open Settings, go to Extras and tap Delete account. Your account and profile are deleted, and this can't be undone.

What data does Kin ID keep?

Only what the app needs to work. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Privacy

Chat and safety

Why do I have to read the chat rules?

Everyone reads and accepts the chat rules once before chatting, so every room starts from the same understanding: be kind and stay safe.

How do I report someone?

Press and hold a message to report it. Reports go to the Kin team for review.

Will Kin ever ask for my password?

No. Kin will never ask for your password or sign in codes in chat, by message or by email. Report anyone who does.
